Big Ballers London Clash

The London Lions are pleased to announce an International game against Lithuanian LKL side BC Vytautas Prienu on Easter Monday – 2nd April at 4.00pm.

US born brothers Lamelo and LiAngelo currently play for the Lithuanian side and people say they are destined for the NBA like their brother Lonzo Ball who plays for the LA Lakers.

The Big Baller Brand visited the Lions Trophy Semi Final at the Copper Box Arena in February and LaVar Ball, head of the family, couldn’t help but be impressed at the charm London has to offer. The basketball family’s reality TV show, “Ball in the Family”, is one of the number one shows on Facebook, and exposure for this game will be high in the US.

Las Vegas Unknown Take the WCBT2018 Title

Welcome From the World Club Basketball Association (WCBA) Commissioner - UK's Eric Douglin

After receiving a kidney from my wife Mandi in 2010, following the diagnosis of Chronic Kidney Disease, I was keen to continue my love of basketball being the founder of the Bexhill Giants Basketball Club in 1999. I wanted to create something unique that would bring the worldwide basketball community together and provide opportunities and exciting experiences for players. After a lot of thought I came up with the concept of the World Club Basketball Tournament (WCBT), which is the only international basketball tournament hosted in the UK open to professional and amateur players.

The inaugural WCBT was hosted in 2015 in Hastings, East Sussex England and, 2018 will be the 4th consecutive year of the event, which to has date featured teams representing the Philippines, USA, Germany , Canada, France, England and Poland.

The international growth of the tournament has seen WCBT2018 receive registrations to compete from countries including Tanzania, Australia and the Caribbean.
Due to the increase in the global reputation of the WCBT, I was approached by a group of international basketball visionaries to support the development of a new league and after months of planning, international conference calls and strategy meetings the World Club Basketball Association ‘A’ League, was founded .
I am privileged to announce I will have the role of Commissioner of the WCBA, with a clear objectives to expand the league globally and raise the profile of British basketball overseas, which was an opportunity to good to turn down.

The WCBA is in the development stage and we are planning the launch for 2019, with the strategic aim to bridge the gap between North American , Asia and European basketball networks in order to provide exciting and unique opportunities for senior Pro Am players to showcase their talent on a global platform.

The incentives for teams winning WCBA ‘A’ League will include the be opportunity to visit Europe and compete in a number of tournaments we have partnered with including the World Club Basketball Tournament, England, Six Park , Hoop Party France & GRC Germany.

I am proud to be associated with this new and exciting project which is a testament to the growth of the WCBT and our aims to bring the basketball world closer together. I am also looking forward to working with an experienced group of visionaries who are not afraid to take a risk for the good of the sport.
In addition to delivering the league, we will also be providing support and guidance for players looking to get into college or professional basketball from the UK to overseas and visa versa.
It would never have occurred to me after undergoing a kidney transplant, that 8 years later I would be the Commissioner of an international basketball league. To be honest if I hadn't undergone the transplant I wouldn't have even contemplated the idea. But the Gift of Life is to precious to turn down such a great opportunity.
